ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic practice grows out of an interest in the transformation of images as they move from the digital environment into the physical world. Initially, I worked with representations of digital imagery, exploring the boundaries between the virtual and the material, between the screen surface and the painted canvas. Over time, my focus shifted: I became increasingly interested not in representation, but in presence itself.

Today, my attention is centered on real objects as autonomous elements of narration. I am drawn to their ability not only to exist within space, but also to construct new semantic fields. Through objects, I appeal to the viewer’s associative memory, inviting them to participate in the creation of a fictional yet tangible world.

I am inspired by the latent theatricality of everyday life,  the way accidental juxtapositions of objects create the feeling of a stage where something is about to happen. Within these micro-narratives, reality acquires the qualities of magical realism, where the familiar becomes strange and objects appear almost alive. I am interested in capturing this moment of transformation, when the ordinary suddenly reveals its poetic potential and presence becomes nearly mystical.
